“Just the Right Tight”

The most observant eye can tell that in this day and age, many people follow numerous fashion or trend. From wearing laced-up boots to splint boots; from dressing up with a pencil-cut skirt to a hobble skirt. One can really put in the picture that the type and style of clothes a person wears tells a lot of things about him. It actually speaks for himself. And for today’s trend, it is very much noticeable that aside from low-rise jeans, women or even men are into wearing something tight—leggings.

 The Tighter it Gets

Leggings are considered a type of cloth that is made from soft, comfy materials—lycra, nylon, cotton, wool and silk to name a few. Leggings, which are also called tights and trousers, are form-fitting and tight, usually black in color.

Based on history, leggings were worn separately, one for each leg. This was done by the natives during the 14^th and 16^th centuries. They used it for warmth, especially during cold nights. But time flew, and many people had made their efforts in innovating tights into much more useful pieces of clothing.

Leggings then became a single garment bringing convenience to the public. It started to become a world’s craze, in particular, when it was used in early 1980s as a perfect outfit for doing some exercise and fitness practices. People then tried to match leggings and wear it skirts, oversized shirts and short/causal dresses.  

Women are so into the new “jeans” that they can actually match with cute tops. Leggings are much easier to wear and carry as compared to some bulky and “stiff” jeans or pants. 

The New “Jeans”

With the passion for this kind of garment, various styles and types of leggings blossomed. Aside from just wearing it when going to the gym, women can now wear and flaunt their pair of leggings when going to the mall, the park, or even around the world.

By making use of the above mentioned materials, leggings come in various colors, prints and design. Black, navy, and some shades of gray are the ones which are most commonly used. While for prints and design, an assortment of animal prints are “in” in the market now. There are Leopard leggings, Zebra leggings, Cheetah leggings and Tiger leggings.  Some women just love to have some “fierce” look in their everyday doll up.

More than the Ordinary

Leopard print leggings or any leggings at that may be very catchy, fashionable and “hot” for the new bandwagon of stylists or the fashionable ones, but do not desert the very root or purpose of the invention of such garment— to give enough comfort and warmth.
